Vanessa left by herself to head back to Saint Arnaud to bring the car back to Boyle Village our final destination with Guillaume. She’s going to spend three days by herself. I wasn’t worried for her but I left her my beacon. We left with Guillaume, stopping first at the Blue Lake and taking the route to Waiau Pass. The weather was beautiful and the scenery breath taking. These big mountains surrounding us were covered by a thin layer of recent snow. Once on the pass at 1800 metres above the sea level, we had a tea and lunch, then we went down in a valley to follow Waiau River and arrived at Caroline Creek Bivvy a tiny hut with only two beds. Sand flies were everywhere, enjoying this nice evening was difficult, they are getting more vicious.
