Day 31 - New Year’s eve at Puhoi Pub

This day was a quiet day, I stayed for a night more, but I succeed to book a kayak for tomorrow to paddle along the Puhoi River which a great news because it’s going to avoid me a long walk along sealed roads. Tonight is the New Year’s eve and I don’t have any plan. At the bar, Amego offered me a beer and while I was drinking by myself, Rob came to talk with me. He offer me to join him and his friend partying in his friend’s house. Why not? I don’t have anything to do. Before leaving the bar with Rob, Amego again offered me two take away beers, this guy is my guardian angel.
We came Rob and I to this house in the bush edge, lost on the middle of nowhere. A beaut house built by Alasdair. Anna and him welcome me as a friend introducing me to Anthony and Vanessa. We spent the night around a fire in the garden facing the moon and celebrating this new year coming
Ce jour fut assez calme, j’ai pris la décision de rester une nuit de plus, me permettant de réserver un kayak pour descendre la rivière Puhoi le lendemain, ce qui m’évitera d’arpenter une quinzaine de kilomètres sur route goudronnée. Ce soir c’est le réveillon du jour de l’an et je n’ai rein prévu, seulement me reposer. Je rejoins mon nouvel ami Amego au bar de l’hôtel il travaille d’arrache pied et le bar est bondé de monde. Il me paye à nouveau une bière. Rob un local, vient s’asseoir à ma table et m’invite à le rejoindre lui et ses amis pour passer le réveillon, je n’ai pas grand chose à faire d’autre et accepte aussitôt. Nous voilà parti sur la route pour rejoindre ses amis quelques kilomètres plus loin pour fêter ça dignement. Alasdair et Anna sont les propriétaires d’une magnifique maison en bordure de forêt qu’Alasdair a construit lui même ils m’ont accueilli chaleureusement. Nous passons le dernier jour de cette année 2012 accompagné de Vanessa et Anthony.
