I woke up on the middle of the path a bit worried about people coming so I left early. On my way I could hear big flies everywhere, every rest I took wasn’t really relaxing, all of them came around me doing the biggest fly noise I never heard before. The Mangatepopo track led me to Chateau Tongariro in Whakapapa Village where I had a lunch at the Fergusson’s Cafe, there was a pétanque ground (Sort of french sport from the south of France). After enjoying this rest I took the Whakapapaiti Track, a splendid well formed track undulating under the Ruapehu Summit through streams and bogs, the scenery was breath taking. After being surrounded by this wild landscape, I reached the State Highway 47 to reach National Park Village, where I resupplied and find a room at the National Park Backpacker. I already miss being in the Tongariro National Park.
