Sarah left this morning about 7 am, I will miss her but I will see her in the South Island certainly. I finished to update my blog and left the Braemar House around 10 am. On my way I stopped on a hunting shop to replace my broken camping stove then I followed the SH4 during a fair 20 kilometres, walking on the shoulder as you know it is not my favourite but it has to be done. I walked facing the traffic on this busy road having hard time to find some shade and quiet spot out of car noise. My backpack started to fall apart, some of the sawing were totally broken and the belt was not tight enough around my hips and it was getting difficult to keep going like that but I have to keep going, I hope my bag is going to last enough time. I got to Turakina Beach Rd and started to feel tired, my feet had too much rest and didn’t get used to long walk anymore. At this moment a man went out of his house to walk his dog and started to talk to me. I asked him how far was the next campsite, he answered me about 4 kilometres more. I couldn’t keep going further and asked if he had a little spot in his garden to pitch my tent. Ron answered that he had to see with the boss, he invited me to come in and called his wife. Jean came out from the garden and with the nicest smile offered me to stay in their house, having good bed and warm shower. Around a cup of tea with one sugar and milk for myself we started to talk for hours. They are a lovely old couple full of energy and really funny, they own three racing dogs Jojo, Basil and Ross, two pigs for bacon, some cows for meat, Syd a little crazy dog that used to live by himself and hunting everything he could find and cats. It’s a really big family and all of them keep Jean and Ron really busy. Ron and I went to see the Tiniwaitara Marae a maori place used for funeral, wedding and tribe meeting. Then Jean invited her son Roku and her partner Karen to come over to have diner with us. So I met all of the family, we had a nice diner and chat. Jean offered me to stay longer and have a look at the Wanganui Museum and Wanganui itself, I accepted when she showed me this beautiful book of maori portraits “Te Awa” showing some of the Partington collection photographs. Jean told me that I could see those in the Museum and you can’t even imagine the beauty of this pictures, they just unreal. So I will stay one day with them.

    Gros bisous

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but
I find this matter to be actually something that I think I would never understand.
It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post,
I’ll try to get the hang of it!
