It wasn’t raining anymore but the sky was still cloudy. Guillaume, Vanessa and I headed to Travers Saddle. The scenery was breath taking, waterfalls, rock fields, névés were everywhere surrounding us. Once on the saddle some snow flakes were falling, it was really cold. We went down heading to West Sabine Hut, crossing a magnificent deep gorge by a wood bridge. We took our lunch in this cold hut then headed to Blue Lake Hut following the West Sabine River Branch. After some creeks crossing we arrived to this hut close to this pure lake, the water seemed unreal. We lit a fire in a Corber Cooker, an old good wood heater to warm us up and had a big dinner. Tomorrow Vanessa is going to go back to Saint Arnaud by herself and Guillaume will keep walking Te Araroa with me.

Il ne pleut plus ce matin, mais le ciel reste chargé de nuage. Nous partons vers 9 heure avec Vanessa et Guillaume nous dirigeant vers la Travers Saddle. Le paysage est à couper le souffle, nous pouvons voir de nombreuses petites cascades se frayant un chemin à travers rochers et pentes herbeuses, quelques névés sont encore là. Arrivé au col, des flocons commencent à tomber, il fait réellement froid. Nous continuons donc notre progression passant un pont en bois au dessus d’une magnifique gorge puis descendant vers le refuge West Sabine où nous prenons notre déjeuner. Nous reprenons la route traversant par un pont suspendu la rivière West Sabine puis nous la suivons jusqu’à atteindre le refuge du Blue Lake. Nous allumons un feu et nous préparons un bon diner. Vanessa repart demain à Saint Arnaud et Guillaume continuera avec moi jusqu’à Boyle Village.
