Vanessa and Guillaume gave me a lift to Christchurch and we spent two days there, visiting the city centre destroyed by the last earth quake. I could meet Charly, Julie and Anthony, my friends who I met in Auckland, it’s been a while I haven’t seen them and it was great to have some drinks with those smiling faces. I bought new boots sent a food parcel to Lake Coleridge Lodge for my friend Hélène and I. Hélène is going to meet me in Arthur’s Pass Village in five days. I had a nice time with my new french friends and it was exceptional to meet them. This morning they decided to head to Nelson so they gave me a lift back to Boyle Village. Not easy to hit the road by myself after to have spent this last week with them. I’m going to miss them. After a sandwich shared with them, I headed back on Te Araroa crossing Boyle River and getting my new shoes wet. I started around 2 pm and got to Hope Halfway Shelter at night where I met two hunters Phil and John.
