It has been raining all night, not a persistent rain but showering. I got worried about walking along the Deception River. On the morning I checked the river level and nothing has changed so I took the decision to get to Goat Pass Hut. It was pouring down all the way long and the several river crossings got more and more difficult but not impassable. I reached first the Upper Deception Hut and decided to keep going to Goat Pass Hut. I had to progress right on the river bed crossing where the current was not strong, sometime thigh level. I was already totally wet so didn’t really care about getting wetter. I finally got to the hut soaking in my clothes and freezing. There was no stove, outside was like hell, a real deluge. Some students came out after me , we had a little chat and they stayed together. I hope I could keep going tomorrow I have to catch up with Hélène, if the weather keep being crap I will stay one day more.
