This night was horrible, the wind raged all night long going under the hut, I could feel the all structure shaking. I woke up and the weather was still the same. I had breakfast and decided to stay there, when magically it cleared up still a strong wind but no cloud anymore, no rain. I got back on the track, leaving behind me the Deception Valley, going over the Goat Pass and reaching the Mingha Valley. Water falls, flooding creeks were surrounding me. I had to ford several creeks and rivers with strong current. I got to the Mingha flat and ended at the Mingha Carpark after a last crossing on the Bealey River. I waited there for Hélène, going and coming between Greyney Shelter Campsite and the car park. I got phone reception and got a text message from Hélène saying she had one delay. So I went to Arthur’s Pass Village walking and met on my way my friends Charly, Julie and Anthony. Such a surprise, they were coming back from the Avalanche Peak and were going back to Christchurch. Hélène arrived some hours later we went to have some beers with Camille who I met at the Café and who I met several months ago in Auckland.Amazing and surprising to meet so many people I know in a such little place.
