We waited this morning for a fair weather window and as usual the sun came out. We left quickly under attack by sand flies and got to Hamilton Hut after crossing two swing bridges. At the hut we met Terry a hunter and storey teller. He told us many hunters and air force stories. We decided to stay for the night here because the forecast wasn’t great and I really want to ford the Rakaia River so we have to have a good weather. We stayed there enjoying some little walk around the hut, playing cards and eating chocolate peanuts butter. The sky cleared up at night. I hope it’s going to last the three next days.
