Terry left before us going to hunt. We left once ready, walking on frosty grass, it was a so cold morning. Hélène tired to try to keep her feet dry while crossing rivers understood that on this kind of track she couldn’t succeed all day long and some river crossings later she was crossing like me getting her feet wet and not trying anymore to jump from rock to rock. Unfortunately New Zealand tracks are not made to keep your feet dry. We walked following the Harper River, crossing this one several time and followed an old 4WD road until we got to Harper Village. We followed Harper Road a gravel road and had lunch facing a breath taking landscape on the edge of Harper River. We walked down the road until we got to the Lake Selfe where pitched our tent and had big dinner, Hélène found the strength to have a swim in the lake. I have a lot to learn from her, it’s too cold outside to have a swim, crazy french girl…
