The wind like a lullaby lulled us to sleep. We got up with the sun, tired by the day before. We started around 9 am, walking with the huge Mount Cook on our back. Autumn colours are everywhere , the red-orange of the trees with the turquoise of Lake Pukaki. Walking on this gravel road was a real strain for our feet and knees. We got to the Power Station exhausted and the heat wasn’t helping us. After a last and long effort we finally got to Pines Campsite on Pukaki Lake shore where we pitched our tent. We had a splendid view on Mount Cook and enjoyed the sun setting behind the Alps.
