We left Twizel around 8:30 am with our backpack loaded with 7 days food. We followed the SH8 reaching a salmon farm and saying goodbye to Mount Cook. Our backpack were really heavy and we took several rest until reaching Lake Ohau shore. The track is still a gravel and dirt road and still not easy, I still think it should be the easiest but gravel are rolling under our soles and made the progress harder. The trees were beautiful, the autumn colours were simply incredible. We arrived finally on the shore, exhausted by our load and pitched our tent enjoying the sunset on the lake.
