I left Wellington on the 4th taking the ferry to Picton. I had to resole my boots, it took them a week to get the done. So I spend my time in Wellington hanging around with my friends, having great time and enjoy the city life, but happy to get back on the track. I met Laura again in Picton at the Villa Backpackers and we took the decision to walk the Queen Charlotte Track together. So this morning we took the Endeaviour Express to Ship Cove. After a nice water taxi travel, seeing krill and a blue penguin, we landed on Ship Cove which is the bay that Captain Cook chose to land his boat when hi discovered New-Zealand. We saw our first Weka, a sort of big chicken, begging for food and usually naughty, trying to take everything you could leave around. We walked this beautiful track through the bush passing by gorgeous bays with clear green water. It was enjoyable to walk with my friend Laura, we just had so much fun. We reached Camp Bay Campsite around seven pm after a twenty-three kilometres walk. Laura broke her ankle, one year ago and we thought it was the best hike to do to celebrate here broken ankle one year birthday. She broke falling from twelve metres rock climbing, she managed really well this first day and I’m really impressed.
