To follow my route follow this link.

I left Smiths Farm and hit the road walking on a walkway following the road. At some point Te Araroa took a track under a power line climbing steeply up hill at 400 metres above the sea level. Just arrived at the top I could see two wild cats running away jumping randomly. From there I could see Havelock my next destination. Almost running down hill on steep fall I reached quickly Havelock. i had burgers there and looked for batteries for my camera remote, guess where I found it, havelock pharmacy, they sell everything wherever in New-Zealand. I started this boring 12 kilometres walk on the shoulder of the SH6 after havelock. A couple riding bicycles told me they were going to Pelorus Bridge Campground, exactly where I headed, we shall see each other tonight. I kept walking until Canvastown pub where I had an L & P drink and headed back on the road. I finally reached Dalton’s bridge and took a track through farm lands crossing several creeks. The track went through a massive indigenous forest crossing a river by a swing bridge and ending at Pelorus Bridge Campground. I met again the couple I had met earlier on the road, Chris and Kirsten. They were working in South Korea for more than two years and they right now cycling around South-Island. They made me a tea and we spent the night chatting with Lawrence and Martyn before the cold night pushed us to bed.
